Aidan Goes Hunting

Aidan got a bear from Uncle Clyde and Aunt Pam, we named him Cowboy after the University of Wyoming's mascot. Today, Aidan went bear hunting.

It didn't go so well at first, Aidan was suprised at home.
Aidan getting owned by Cowboy.
Oh oh, Aidan using all 11 pounds to finally get the advantage.
It's the victory dance.
And don't come back to my house!

Quick Friday Update

We had one great night this week. On Wednesday night he slept from midnight to 5:30. Fantastic! Of course Aidan hasn't repeated, but we're keeping our fingers crossed. Also, he had a check-up this week. He's perfectly healthy, weighs over 11 pounds and is almost two feet long, and the doctor is impressed with his head control.

One of the funny things that happens to me when I do the middle of the night shift is I sometimes get a random song stuck in my head. It's terrible. I've been singing anything from Aerosmith, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, and Millie Vanilli, although I'm not sure the last one should count as singing. What usually happens is I sing made up lyrics to a Pearl Jam tune, it seems to be the only way to get the random/awful song out of my head. Heather caught me one time and thought I was crazy, probably still does.

This picture reminds me of pictures of chimps hanging on to people's necks.
One side effect to Aidan getting bigger is that he loses his birth hair. He's almost bald up top but still has long hair in the back. Awkward.
Almost two feet.

Happy Easter!

Aidan got to experience Easter today. And by "experience," I mean he stayed at home with daddy while mom went to church. Later in the day we went over to Kevin's where he and Leigh made a fantastic brunch. Overall, it was a great day except for the fact that Georgetown lost. As Mark said, "oof."

Cute little Easter egg.

The Waners on their first Easter.
After brunch.
Brad stopped by yesterday for the Duke game, and got to meet Aidan for the first time. Some stranger was passing by and got in the background.
Clearly, I love Aidan in his hats. It kills me.
If I were Monet and got tired of painting water lilies, I'd paint Aidan in his hat.

Aidan Turns One Month.....Two Days Ago!

Aidan turned a month on Wednesday, and it shows. He looks like a baby now, and not a newborn. I hope that makes sense.

I know I said Aidan would be in his tournament favorite onesie, but Georgia lost yesterday before we could get a picture. Penn State isn't in it, currently Tennessee is losing to American...who(and how is that for real time blogging)? Also, I don't think Heather would allow that, the only school we have left is Georgetown, maybe Uncle Mark can help out.

"Hey, Aidan, how old are you?"

I think he hates wearing his hats.
This picture was taken on Wednesday and for scale I put our tv remote control next to him. I wonder what he'll look like at 2 months.

Aidan's First Bath

It's not technically his first bath, it's his first bath in the sink. If you listen carefully, at the beginning you'll hear me say "take two." The first try didn't go so well and we had to do some rearranging. And if you can't tell by my laughing I think it's pretty funny. Also, I had to stop taping before the bath was finished, Heather desperately needed my help. All ends well as you can see in the last couple of seconds.

Selection Sunday

Sorry, we haven't posted anything for most of last week. I guess I was so excited about his belly button falling off! That and it's tournament time, the Hoyas and Bulldogs(depending on if they win today) are my teams. Penn State failed in it's bid to qualify for the NIT, but the future looks bright.

Now, back to Aidan. Wednesday was a tough night. But he came back strong Thursday, Friday and last night. He's up to eating every 4 hours during the night. Granted, that can change. We go to bed wondering if he'll make it all 4 hours or if he'll wake up screaming a couple hours in, ala Wednesday night. I'm not sure if I've posted this thought before, but right around dusk Heather and I look at each other and both have the same look, "it's getting dark, I hope it's a good night." It's kind of like those horror movies where the villagers have to get inside before night falls-it's the same ominous feeling. I'm not saying Aidan is a vampire, but it certainly adds some suspense.

Heather loves getting him dressed, and this is a favorite outfit.

My idea when I had this picture taken was to make a side by side of a Buddha statue. Yep, Aidan is getting fat. Brian and Laura stopped by, and yes I posted the goofiest picture of Brian that I took.

I'll try and do a better job of posting this week. In fact, here's a spoiler......look for a video of bath time, and pictures of Aidan dressed in his pick for March Madness.

Big News!

First things first, Aidan lost his belly button today! Well, not his belly button(is that possible) but the remaining portion of his umbilical cord. That's big for a few reasons 1)it doesn't look gross anymore 2) we don't have to clean it daily 3) he can now lay on his stomach more!

Heather and I had a bit of a game with the umbilical cord. It was clear it was near to falling off, but we weren't sure when. Like the magic diaper(see earlier post) it disappeared this morning, and unlike the magic diaper it reappeared on the floor. Just in time for his three week birthday tomorrow.

I love this first picture. How great is that hat? My dad has a nickname for him, I think this picture may spawn a new one......the little pope
