Happy Halloween/8 Months/Thanksgiving

We're on camera number 3, 4 if you count the one we returned. I broke the one we replaced after I broke that one. We now have a shock proof, water proof, dust proof camera, too bad we don't have a Jeff proof one.

The camera issue is a good excuse for being so behind. I'm condensing this post into Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Max's 8 month picture.

Here we are in my parents neighborhood last week. The plan was to catch a fish and have Aidan reel it in. Aidan kept saying, "When do we catch a fish?"
We were terrified of Max being a lap baby on the flights. He rocked it. We had several people ask how we were so lucky to have two good kids.

7 Months

6 Months

We've hit a couple of milestones. Max turned 6 months old a few days ago. And we started potty training Aidan.

First, lets talk Max. His first 6 months have flown. Blink of an eye fast, especially when compared to how I felt like 6 months went with Aidan. We've started giving him rice cereal, and vegetables. As you'll soon see, his smile is one of my favorite things about him, it makes our day. He has an odd habit of sticking his bottom lip into his mouth and sucking on it, which is a pain when he's eating but only adds to his smile.

There are experiences you learn about when preparing for kids, late nights, crying, skinned knees, etc...then there are experiences you're not ready for. I'm going to add potty training to the list with exploding diapers(think about it), getting randomly thrown-up on, and getting up early for the rest of your life. This is terrible. I thought Aidan and his diapers were getting bad, but after two days of potty training, I think this is worse. Let me put in terms of a sports score, Rug/floor 5-toilet 0.

6 month picture.

A few weeks ago, Aidan and Max's Great Grandmother passed away. Max was lucky enough to meet her, while Aidan saw her for the second time, a week before her passing.

She really was an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother. A lasting memory I'll have of her with the boys was when she tried to get Aidan to eat yogurt covered pretzels only minutes before his bed time on our visit. He looked at me to see if it was ok, ignored me, and went ahead and had a handful. Great Grandmother was always making sure everyone was happy and got what they needed. She'll be missed.

5 Months and A Bit

Clearly, I'm behind. But we have pictures and a video to make up for my lack of posting. I feel like that's happened before.

Max turned 5 months last week, and his hair just keeps getting better. He loves watching Aidan and will occasionally laugh at him. Aidan has now started to playing with Max(see the video).

We'd also like to welcome baby Ella into the family. We have a new niece!

Story time.

5 Months.

This is a bit of history, it being the first time Aidan intentionally played with Max.

4 Months

For Max's 4 month birthday you get pictures and a video. At his check-up he was in the 90-95th percentile for height and weight.

We've stopped combing his hair because we like to see how it will end up after a bath.

4 month picture.

Max rolled over from front to back last week. This is not a video of that, we have yet to capture the moment. But I think this is a really cute clip.

We're able to get good pictures of Max now. He loves watching Aidan, and Aidan is starting to reciprocate the attention....slowly.

Heather's back at work. And it's hotter than, well, it's really hot. Other than those two things, everything else is great. Sorry for the long delay in posts.

I came down one morning, the boys were in Heather's lap like this and reading a story. Not bad.

This is a direct quote from Aidan, "I lay down with Max and have tummy time. You should get the camera"

This is more about Max's hair. It's crazy. The portion that hasn't fallen out is now long and curling back, while his new hair is growing in.

3 Months!

Max turned 3 months old today. He's giggling now, no laughing but we're getting there. This might be known but he's sleeping through the night now. But the best part is that he's become much more interactive over the last couple of weeks. Max has turned the corner from a newborn to a baby.

On Monday Heather returns to work. That's all I'm going to say about that.....

A few weeks ago Ali and Shane brought Lily to visit.
Max has a crooked grin. Love it.

We made World Cup-cakes for the USA/England match. Aidan helped.

I'm Behind

No excuses this time, I've been lazy with the blog. I'm behind about a month, I'll try and catch up....

These are still from Tennessee.

Aidan now likes to disagree with us. For instance, here's the conversation we had with him about the following picture.
"Aidan, what color is that wheel?"
"Not a wheel. It's a fan."
"I'm pretty sure it's a wheel."
"Aidan playing with the fan."
"Ok."

Max is a happy little guy. He greets us with a smile ever morning, and it's very easy to make him smile. We're very close to making him laugh.

Two Months and A Bit More

I missed getting up Max's two month pictures up and here's why.....
We were in Tennessee for the birthday, and everyone else showed up to! Gary and Ann were great to host everyone and we had a wonderful time.
