Aidan Turns ?

I'm afraid to admit but I've lost track. I think he turned 24 weeks old yesterday.

There are two things that he does know that gets me every time. First, now that he's able to sit up with help, he also falls down. He'll bump his head, sometimes on my leg or his toy, and he's not sure if it hurts or not. He'll look at Heather or I to see how he should react. We of course smile and laugh and then he does the same thing. It's great, I wonder how long it will last. I guess we always turn to our parents for comfort. I still turn to my mommy when Penn State loses.

editors note: Heather believes I've already told the above story. I apologize if true.

He's also able to grab objects now, like cell phones, phones, spoons.......and if he sees something he wants he does everything he can to try and get it. This is funny enough, but if you put it out of sight, he instantly forgets about it. I know this doesn't last for long.

This is how he was sleeping one day. Butt up, legs underneath him and head to the side.

Begs the question, if you could, would you?
Heather's sun glasses that are soon to make the disappearing act.
Peak a boo!
More tasting.

Aidan Moves Forward

Aidan found his drive gear in his little car. No longer is he backwards bound! He can hop even more than the video shows.

On another note, Heather thinks it's weird that I never talk during the videos, and it adds some creepy atmosphere. Thoughts? I, on the other hand, hate the sound of my voice on videos, answering machines, you name it. In fact if that's what I really sound I'm gonna take a vow of silence.

When Aidans Attack!

If you haven't yet, check out his 5 month old pictures.

The other day I was in the bathroom, holding Aidan in my right arm and reaching for the Kleenex box with my left. The box was up high and I knocked it off of its perch. Without thinking or really without looking, I caught the box with my left hand while still holding Aidan. It was amazing, and possibly one of the most athletic things I've ever done. And I'm pretty athletic, just ask Mark. Two things though, no one was there to witness this display, Aidan doesn't count because he looked at me and started to drool, and it doesn't sound as impressive as it actually was. This brings us to the next set of pictures.....

One morning I was laying on the couch and had Aidan sitting on my chest. He was smiling at me, and drooling.....a lot. I was more worried he was gonna throw-up on me more than anything else. All of a sudden he went for my nose, and that means he put his entire, slobbery mouth on my nose. In the words of Bill Murray, he slimmed me. The amazing thing was he did it again, but I didn't have the video recorder ready fortunately the camera was nearby. I would have been more disgusted by the drool on my face but it was one of the funniest things he's done. Like the story above, you had to be there, but hopefully you get the idea.

Looking innocent enough.....
Eyeing my nose up.......
Incoming.....
This was my last view before I was slimmed......
Tasty! And yes that's the Cabbage Patch Kid face he's been making.

5 Months

Yesterday, Saturday, Aidan turned 5 months old. We talked to a couple today who had their 1 year old with them, Aidan could have eaten this kid.

A big thanks to Rashan, he watched Aidan last night while Heather and I went out to dinner with Brian and Laura and saw the Dark Knight. Rashan did a great job and was a real trooper because we didn't get back until 1:30am.

Here it is! The 5 month picture of Aidan and our tv remote.
I wish we had a video of Shan watching Aidan because Rashan just sits there and giggles at him the entire time. It's.....adorable. I wanted to put this picture up because it reminds me of one of my favorite Aidan pictures, and Rashan happens to be holding him. You'll have to look back through the blog to find it.
He's not a big thumb sucker, but he can put four of his five fingers in his mouth at the same time. This is daddy playing horsey and getting tired.

Aidan turns 5 months old on Saturday, I know all of you are waiting in anticipation for the tv remote control picture.....

Below is a picture of Aidan smiling. I'm pretty sure I haven't posted one like this yet because every time I take his picture he looks surprised. Of course he smiles for his Aunt Ali.

The video shows Aidan making his favorite sound, it's actually a grunt. He does it when he's hungry, when he wants a toy, when he's playing, you name it, however, he doesn't do it when you think he would be.

Greek Tragedy

Nothing new to add. It seems like Aidan makes little advances everyday, a grunt here or his ability to reach his toys. Last night we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant and one of our regular waiters said. "nino grande." It made us laugh.

Aidan clearly isn't crawling yet, but he's able to push off and move that way. The only problem is he only has one direction and that's reverse. Instead of pushing off with his legs he'll push off with his arms. It's gets funny when you put a toy in front of him just a little ways out of his reach. He tries to get to it, but ends up getting farther and farther away, it's like a Greek Tragedy......no, not that kind(and yes that's an inside joke).

The next three pictures took place over about 15 minutes and a distance of about 10 feet, he 's not breaking any speed records. I only moved him so he could get around the door.

He can see the toy in front of him.
I had to move the toy to keep him interested.
Once he hit the wood, he was off.
We all know what fat jokes are, right? For example, "You are so fat you were baptized in Sea World." What's your favorite? Aidan just came up with a new one. You're so fat your toys stick to your arms.....
This post wouldn't be complete without a big eye Aidan shot.

Aidan turned 20 weeks old yesterday. And instead of having one tooth, he has two. Awhile back I said I didn't want him to get teeth, it's actually pretty cute.

We made a quick trip down to Tennessee for the 4th. Everyone was there and I got a glimpse of our future with two babies who just started crawling and a 3 year old that wore me out.

Here's the group! We had to keep Jack(far right) from rolling down the hill and it looks like Andrew is doing the same with Aidan.
We're practicing tummy time.
I think he looks older then 4 and a half months......I'm talking about Aidan of course.
Ann was a great host, but Aidan looks like he just had bad gas.
He's starting doing this thing with his lips where he puts his bottom lip under his top and puffs out a little bit. He looks like a Cabbage Patch kid when doing so, I'm waiting to get a good picture.

Dinner Videos

Here are the videos of Aidan and his cereal meal. I had a difficult time downloading them, so they're not great but you should get the point.

Also, Heather and I are about 99.9% sure Aidan is getting his first tooth. Why 99.9%? I want a little wiggle room if it turns out to be nothing.....it is an election year after all.

Have a happy and safe 4th!

He wasn't quite sure at first.

He's getting into it......

You want me to go back to bottles after this? I don't think so.
