It's not technically his first bath, it's his first bath in the sink. If you listen carefully, at the beginning you'll hear me say "take two." The first try didn't go so well and we had to do some rearranging. And if you can't tell by my laughing I think it's pretty funny. Also, I had to stop taping before the bath was finished, Heather desperately needed my help. All ends well as you can see in the last couple of seconds.

Selection Sunday
Sorry, we haven't posted anything for most of last week. I guess I was so excited about his belly button falling off! That and it's tournament time, the Hoyas and Bulldogs(depending on if they win today) are my teams. Penn State failed in it's bid to qualify for the NIT, but the future looks bright.
Now, back to Aidan. Wednesday was a tough night. But he came back strong Thursday, Friday and last night. He's up to eating every 4 hours during the night. Granted, that can change. We go to bed wondering if he'll make it all 4 hours or if he'll wake up screaming a couple hours in, ala Wednesday night. I'm not sure if I've posted this thought before, but right around dusk Heather and I look at each other and both have the same look, "it's getting dark, I hope it's a good night." It's kind of like those horror movies where the villagers have to get inside before night falls-it's the same ominous feeling. I'm not saying Aidan is a vampire, but it certainly adds some suspense.
Heather loves getting him dressed, and this is a favorite outfit.

My idea when I had this picture taken was to make a side by side of a Buddha statue. Yep, Aidan is getting fat.
Brian and Laura stopped by, and yes I posted the goofiest picture of Brian that I took.

I'll try and do a better job of posting this week. In fact, here's a spoiler......look for a video of bath time, and pictures of Aidan dressed in his pick for March Madness.

Big News!
First things first, Aidan lost his belly button today! Well, not his belly button(is that possible) but the remaining portion of his umbilical cord. That's big for a few reasons 1)it doesn't look gross anymore 2) we don't have to clean it daily 3) he can now lay on his stomach more!
Heather and I had a bit of a game with the umbilical cord. It was clear it was near to falling off, but we weren't sure when. Like the magic diaper(see earlier post) it disappeared this morning, and unlike the magic diaper it reappeared on the floor. Just in time for his three week birthday tomorrow.
I love this first picture. How great is that hat? My dad has a nickname for him, I think this picture may spawn a new one......the little pope

It's Friday!
Wow, we made it....we're tired, at times a little frustrated, a little disorganized but we sure do love Aidan and are having a lot of fun(except when he's crying at 2:30 in the morning). This was my first week back at work and Heather is still on vacation for 10 more weeks.
I kid, I kid.
Most babies have a cranky period in the afternoon/evening. We think Aidan's is from 6:30-8. Mine's usually from 9-5.
I think we're wrapping up Aidan's other body part series. His hands seem huge.
If you look closely you can see Heather in the park across the street.
That's all I got. I'm tired and the Chinese food just got here. Hopefully I'll be able to post more pictures over the weekend with a little video coverage as well.

And the names are.......
Grannie and Grandpa Joe! Or Grandma and Grandfather! Clearly, not much was decided. It was a blast having them, and of course they were a huge help. They left this afternoon(Tuesday) after stopping by for a couple more hours. Heather will now be on her own, but she'll continue to do great.
Someone kidnapped my mom on the way here and replaced her with Grannie. I've never see my mom so content to sit there and do nothing, of course she was holding Aidan. And that's pretty much how the weekend went. It was a first to see her like this.
Grandpa Joe was equally as entertaining. Occasionally, as he was holding Aidan, we would hear, "Jeff your son is starting to cry." That or he started telling Aidan stories of Jim Bridger and his "time" out West.
Too cute not to put on here.
It's swing time!
Aidan turned two weeks old today. He had a check-up today and weighed in at 8 pounds 9 ounces. The doctor said he was doing great. Heather did a fantastic job of getting him ready and to the doctor's by herself for the first time.
We also got the clearance to put Aidan on his stomach for "tummy time." Hopefully this leads to more and better videos!

I think we have some names for X and Y! They leave on Tuesday, so we'll wait until then to reveal the names. This first picture is pretty much how the weekend has gone. Until Tuesday we'll leave it at this....
Anne Geddes called, she wants her talent back! Seriously, his feet are huge and I should have put something next to them for scale. And yes, this is a continuation of random Aidan pictures.
Not to be gross, but I was there and this should be experienced by more than me and Heather, this was taken after a huge bowel movement. He's very content.
I sure look upset there.
Just a little teaser for Tuesday's pictures.
It's been great having my parents here this weekend. We're debating if we want my mom to spend the night tomorrow night. Heather and I went on a date tonight. Of course we went about a mile away and talked about Aidan the entire time.
Aidan is doing great. It seems like he's grown over the past few days. He sees the doctor again on Tuesday so we'll know how much weight he's gained in the past two weeks. It's strange that it's been two weeks. Each individual day goes fast, but as a whole it's been slow.
I go back to work tomorrow(Monday).
