Big Boy Bed

We moved Aidan to a regular bed. I had planned on an elaborate post with Aidan in different phases of refusal to sleep in it. After about 2 minutes of fussing and Heather singing to him in the bed, he went right to sleep and slept through the night. Much easier then we thought.

Aidan knows some of his numbers and we're attempting to teach him colors. Here's a typical conversation: "Aidan, what color is this shirt?"
"8!!!"
He's a little mixed up right now.

I know his teeth are gonna fall out, but it's still fun to watch him brush.
Final night with the crib.
Final picture in the crib.
He needs a haircut. Bad.
Big boy bed. Pictures of him in the bed will follow shortly.

Happy New Year

Clearly I'm a little behind. Christmas was in Oklahoma this(last) year. As you'll see the snow followed us across the country. Some things Aidan is currently doing:
*saying "yeah" with a head nod
*saying "no" to everything
*saying "hi mommy" after a good night of sleep
*eating us out of house and home, and he's not even close to being a teenager
*he now gives fist bumps and high fives on command

Typical Aidan, reading through Heather's book while making my Dad "talk" on the phone.
Merry Christmas
As I said, the snow followed us.
If you take Elmo from me, I'll cry.

December in DC

We've been busy lately, as I'm sure everyone else has. It's been too long since a post, but I promise things will pick up soon, and by soon I mean mid-March....wink, wink.

Aidan's great. His vocabulary has exploded. For you 30 Rock fans, he says "What the what?," and for you McDonald's fans he says "Robble, robble," thank Uncle Mark.

We got 2 feet of snow starting on Friday night. Aidan loved it. He's a snow bunny. However, he's never been cold like this before. When snow got into his mittens he started crying and asking mommy to kiss it, like it hurt. So cute. That's the other thing, I've been using words like, cute, adorable, sweetie, etc....hmmm.

I love this shot.
The snow makes the neighborhood look entirely different. It's almost like we moved.
Yep, the snow is playing tricks.
Aidan is about to be spoiled with presents.
For those of who remember, Cowboy was given to Aidan by my Uncle Clyde. He loves him now.

Halloween....in November

It's about time I got the Halloween pictures up.

Everyone should know that Heather carved the jack-o-lantern.
Aidan was a knight. His long hair adds to the Medieval look.
That didn't last long.
Trick or treat.
Time for my milk while Daddy eats my candy

White House

These pictures are a few weeks old, and I have a couple more that I want to get up before the Halloween pictures. We went on a tour of the south lawn of the White House.

Aidan is starting to put two words together. And he seems to be getting a sense of humor. When we ask what he wants for dinner he says, "coke." Of course he's never had a sip of coke he just recognizes the can or bottle. And if we ask if there's anything else he wants with dinner he says "cookie!" He then looks at us and laughs.

I think this is a great picture because it's from a view you don't see a lot.

That's the playground the Obama girls get to play on. Oddly enough we didn't get to try the swings out.

You might have noticed Aidan's had a blackberry in most of the pictures. We were at the White House and he didn't want to take any time off the job.

This is the first time I've posted two entries in one month in a long time. Congrats to me! Aidan had his first bubble bath the other day and now asks for one every day. He loves it. We've also introduced him to Elmo and asks for him now too. One of the great things about Sesame Street is that adults can enjoy the characters and show. By that I mean, I'm asking Aidan every hour if he wants to watch an Elmo clip.

A long time ago I took a picture of Aidan sleeping like this, he still does it.
He dumped out his toy box, climbed in, and started playing with a cord.
No, we were not watching Baywatch.

We were down in Tennessee this past weekend at Gary and Ann's. With all the kids there it was....hectic. Gary and Ann were great hosts and must be exhausted after everyone leaves. It was nice seeing Aidan get to play and not be quarantined.

Today he got his flu shot(regular flu, not H1N1). It's sad, he recognizes the patients room and clings to Heather when we walk in. Needless to say, he did not enjoy today.

That's Jack playing with Aidan in what turned out to be one of their favorite games. One of them would say, "bye, bye" while the other closes the door on him.
Aidan and Jack.
Aidan and Jack. You see a theme?
I absolutely cannot help myself from telling Aidan to put things on his head. It gets me every time.
Lily's face is priceless, and this is probably how she felt all weekend. What are these boys doing?!?!
