Parents X and Y Arrive

While they're not here yet, my parents get here today. Since we haven't decided what they'll go by I'll refer to them as X and Y. Although, my Dad is pushing for Grandfather.

Aidan went for a weight check-in yesterday and he has gained his orginal weight back. He's now weighing in at a solid 8 pounds 7 ounces.

His pictures were starting to get a little repetitive. I don't want to kill everyone with cuteness! I'm starting to take pictures of particular parts of his body and comment on them.....

As Mark said, that's a bad place for a calic
I've never had a baby before but I believe that's his ear.

I couldn't completely stop with the cute pictures.
Leigh got to meet Aidan for the first time last night.

Aidan had a good night of sleep last night. All in all the nights haven't been awful. I'm sure it could be worse. Knock on wood.

I wanted to get this up for Aidan's one week birthday......it's a little rough around the edges to say the least. I'll work on my movie making skills (and my movie voice, eesh). Before you watch this, please check out the previous post. We need more ideas and it's fun to see the comments. Thanks.

Blog Poll

This is just the cutest! Does Aidan look like a Smurf? We just need a dark blue shirt.
Aidan's first bath. He didn't like it.
That's better.
Uncle Mark being very comfortable with Aidan. Watch out ladies.
I think he just had gas.

Heather, Aidan and I are alone now. The Thackers left on Sunday, and they were a HUGE help. We have until Friday when my parents arive. Speaking of my parents. Let's get to the poll. Hopefully this will do two things 1)help my parents decide on Grandparent names 2) see how many people look at this blog, and create some feedback. That's three things, but whatever.

Currently, my parents have yet to decide what they want Aidan to call them. Mark and I called their parents Grandmother or Grandfather. Is that to formal for Joe and Elizabeth? But, I also say "Aunt" instead of "Ant."

Here are some choices and feel free to post your own ideas.

For Mom:
Grandmother
Mimi
Grandma

For Dad:
Grandfather
Papa
Grandpa

We need more options.

Aidan's First Night

He did pretty good. No crying that couldn't be stopped, and he did some good sleeping. Of course he's slept all day today so we could be in for some fun on the second night.
This is a perfect job of swaddling by Heather.
If our son were an animal, and I was a tree or bush, I would consider myself marked. I've been peed on twice, and last night was projectile vomited on. Guess what's next.
Besides being peed on, I lost a diaper last night. It literally disappeared after I removed it. I'm sure it will turn up in some random spot, like in the leg of one of my suits.
Since Monday night, sleep has been on short supply. This morning I walked around the grocery store like an old man who's escaped from the old folks home. I was in a complete fog, I lost my cart about 35 times. At one point, a nice young grocery boy said, "Sir do you need some help finding something?" Ok, that might not have happened but I'm not sure it didn't.

Aidan's Homecoming

Aidan's first car ride. And yes, I drove like an old lady.
Come on in!
The first pictures with the grandparents.
If anyone is wondering why I'm wearing a t-shirt and shorts in the middle February is that the house has to be at a temperature of 68-72. I'm in an oven.
The is from last night. Aidan's passed out, and by the look on my face I wish I could be as well.

It's great to have him home. Heather is doing great. There's no way I could be up and walking around after giving birth three days ago. Two points from the stay at the hospital: 1)If men had to give birth there'd be a way for it to be a lot less painful. 2)Heather and Aidan had absolutely amazing care for the days that we were there, the nurses were particulary fantastic. It's a good thing we're insured and not poor. I'll leave it at that.

World Meet Aidan.....Part I

Heather was a rock star Tuesday! We got to the hospital on Monday night at 11. At 4am Tuesday they started the induction, at 7am they broke her water. At 11:30am she got an epidural which is amazing in the fact that she lasted that long. At 1 pm, she started pushing, at 4:47 Aidan was born......
8 pounds 6 ounces and a huge head. Thanks Dad!
Those aren't tears, it's something they put in his eyes once he's out. Plus, I think the look is priceless. If he could speak, he'd be asking. "What in the world is happening to me?"
Father and son. I'm pretty sure I'm holding the quarterback who will lead the class of 2026 to a national championship at Penn State(good chance JoePa will still be there). That or a dynamic central midfielder leading the USA to it's first World Cup title. Either will do, and he's probably capable of both!
The Waner's together for the first time.

Ok, that's it for now. I have to get back to the hospital. I'll get more photos up later, and if you want all the photos email me and I'll send them around when I get a chance.

Heather and Aidan are doing great.
