Grandpa Joe

Dad was in town on Wednesday......I think he likes Aidan. Last time my parents were here I commented on how different my mom seemed when she was around Aidan. This time it was dad's turn. I think he enjoyed Aidan being a little more interactive. I'm not sure if I'll post this, but I do have video evidence of Grandpa Joe enjoying his grandson, and rightfully so.

Aidan turns two months tomorrow(look for those pictures next week, along with one and possibly two videos).
Gulp! Three generations of Waner men.
Aidan was getting flying lessons.
And clearly having a great time.
He still can't find his thumb 1oo percent of the time.

8 Weeks!

It's hard to believe it's been 8 weeks. He's eating more(as you can see), he's sleeping more(consistently past 6), and he's more interactive. And we're finally getting smiles at us, this will be a topic of another post.

Grandpa Joe is in town tomorrow, and might treat Aidan to his first steak dinner....hold on a second, Heather is saying babies don't eat steak. I'm sure my boy will be different.

Aidan helping mom do some shopping online.
Not only is Heather a great mom and wife, she takes a good picture of herself.
As I mentioned above, and as you can tell here, Aidan's been eating more.

Visitors

Andrew Snow, my friend from Oklahoma who now lives in Dallas, was in town for work during the week. He stopped by and had some fun with Aidan. If you couldn't tell from the video, he got a kick out of making me feel bad about cutting Aidan's thumb. It's fine now, but I was amazed at how long it took to stop bleeding. That was probably the worst part, pinching his thumb for 45 minutes to get the bleeding to stop.

Aidan has continued to sleep to 7-7:30(without his thumb being cut). We're not sure how long it's going to last, but we'll take it.

And I should mention that Andrew plays in a band called Red Monroe, you should check them out. It'll be nice to say you knew who they were before they got huge!

Rashan stopped by on Thursday for dinner and I think this is the first time he held Aidan. Aidan was snoring and Rashan couldn't stop laughing, I'm not sure what was cuter.
Aidan cries now when he can't find his thumb.
Heather's ready to do her shopping, for those who live or know about DC, she fits in perfectly with the other moms on the Hill and their baby carriers. Now all we need is a dog.

7am Thursday morning, Heather wakes me up. "What time did you feed Aidan?"

"Um, I didn't."

It takes a second and we both hop out of bed in a panic and run to his room. He's fine, of course, starting to stir but not awake yet.

One of a few things happened1)He's been blocked up and possibly sick. Unlikely, because everything else has been fine and he ate more then he's ever eaten at 7:15. He was probably starving. 2)We both slept through his 5am cry to let us know it's time to eat. Hard to believe, but possible. 3) He's recovering from the incident described in the video below. I'm a terrible father and it's best that the video is in black and white to hide it's graphic nature.

More pictures of Andrew's visit tomorrow.

7 Weeks!

Aidan turned 7 today. The past two nights he's slept till 5:30, which is a first and we're clearly hoping that keeps up.

Congratulations to the University of Kansas, and a great basketball game. My brother's best friend, Ryan who also has a newborn, is an alum of Kansas. I'm sure he's happy for a couple of reasons now. Heather and I are hoping Aidan brings our alma maters the same luck that Ryan's newborn has brought him.

Happy Birthday Aidan!
It's absolutely amazing how big he's getting.
We Are......sucking my thumb! Yep, Aidan found his thumb. And yes, he looks fantastic in Penn State blue.
What more can be said about this photo?
"My little rubber ducky." Is he Bert or is he Ernie? I think he looks like Bert.

Guess Who Came To Visit?

April and Ali came for a visit over the weekend, and properly spoiled Aidan. Not that we're complaining, in fact it was great. Heather and I got to have dinner and movie and a full night of sleep! Oh, and I think they like him.

While Heather and I were out we decided that Aidan was in better hands with them then with us. Aidan was clearly fascinated with them, and we think he had become bored with looking at us all the time. I'm not sure if that's possible but it sure seemed like it, he was definitely putting on the charm.

You'll notice how happy Aidan looks in all of the pictures with April and Ali.
Passed out.

Full and happy.

Have I said I love Aidan in his hats?

6 Weeks!

Aidan turned 6 weeks old today, and yes it's gone fast. I think Heather would agree but it seems like he's always been here. I'm not sure if that's how most new parents feel, but that's the way it feels right now. April and Ali get to meet him for the first time this weekend, I'm pretty sure everyone is excited.

Heather took this batch of photos and it's clear she does a better job than me. We love this one.

The power of running a blog, putting silly pictures of your brother up.
Want to give Annie and Geoff a shout out, thanks for the shirt-although it's tough to see.
