Back From Oklahoma

We got back Monday afternoon after a long weekend in Oklahoma. The visit was great, and a lot of mom and dad time and a lot of Grannie and Grandpa Joe time.

Aidan did really well on both flights, despite giving myself an ulcer. The only time he got upset was on the way back and we didn't take off until well into his nap time. There are many pictures so don't be surprised if you see a few entries regarding Oklahoma.

Whatever we fed him out there seems to have been something special because he has four teeth coming in up top, that's a total of six.

Working off some nervous energy while waiting to board.

I hope they got my bag.
No movie?!
I think I see Memphis.

Getting Ready For A Trip

It's been about a week since the last posting. I think that's the longest time between posts we've had. Sorry, we got caught up in the Olympics. In fact, after Aidan's six month check-up he was disqualified from future events. He measured in at 20 pounds, a big head and 30 inches long. He's got a big head and he's heavy, just like dad.

We leave for Oklahoma tomorrow, my mom is already at the airport, she's that excited. It's been too long since Aidan has seen his grandparents. I drive Heather crazy with being places on time, in fact if there's a phobia for being late I'm pretty sure I have it. With us flying for the first time with Aidan I'm afraid to admit how early we're going to get to the airport.

Aidan can really move now, and he just gets away from me.
Aidan isn't as fascinated with the camera so we're getting some "different" faces.

This is a picture of him eating sweet potatoes for the first time.

6 Months!

It's hard to believe Aidan turns 6 months old today. Not to be cliched, but it's gone really fast. In fact, it almost seems like Aidan has always been a part of our lives. It's not that Heather and I don't miss the chances to go out to dinner or a movie, etc., when we want, but he's been so much fun that, honestly, it's a really good trade off and that's an obvious understatement.

Speaking of him being fun, there are almost daily changes now. He sits up without any support. And that happened over night. He's talking....a lot. A lot of da da, ma ma, ga ga, na na, it's pretty cute. I'll try to get a video. Today I had him siting in his crib with his hands holding the rails. I turn away for a second, turn back and he's standing, still holding the rails. He pulled himself up. And I almost forgot. He has a third tooth coming in, this time it's on top.

We had to take a break from the Olympics to lower his crib. Here's the last picture of the crib at it's original height. I think you can see why we had to lower it.
Pizza at Uncle Mark's. We love the Greek pizza, and Mark loves his tan.
While we liked the pizza Aidan liked his bottle.
This is the crib at the new level, Aidan looks angry about it.
The monthly remote control picture. I think I've said this before, but he loves remotes and phones. I had to take this one in a hurry.

Beijing Part I

Aidan arrived in Beijing this morning. The Chinese government approached him about competing for the gymnastics team four years from now in London. He declined.
His first event was the 2m crawl. Competing against him are Rocky the Bear from Rocky Mountain National Park, and Raccy the Raccoon from the trashcan behind our house.
Aidan got off to a ssllllooooowwww start. Looks like the raccoon is gonna take the gold.
Wait! With a last minute lunge the human takes the lead and the victory! Oh my!
The crowd goes crazy.....
Stay tuned for the awards ceremony and future events.

25 Weeks?

We're almost positive he's 25 weeks old on Tuesday. Either way he's 6 months old in a week. Wow.

Waking up from a nap.

Look at his chins, his, not mine.
After a bath, we like his hair.

In case you were wondering, and I'm sure you were, Aidan is on his way to the Olympics. Hopefully we'll get some photos of him competing......

One of us had a birthday last week and it wasn't Heather or Aidan. Aidan is quite the gift giver by the way. Nothing really new, but we think he's teething again.

You think we're related?
I look terrible here, and hopefully not like that at all. But check out Aidan.
Remember the cabbage patch face? Now, he's doing the opposite where he puts his lower lip over his upper one. This isn't really a picture of that, oh well.....
We took the upper level of his pack and play out, so now he can see out.
He hasn't forgotten how to go backwards! He crawled his way underneath the crib.

Aidan Turns ?

I'm afraid to admit but I've lost track. I think he turned 24 weeks old yesterday.

There are two things that he does know that gets me every time. First, now that he's able to sit up with help, he also falls down. He'll bump his head, sometimes on my leg or his toy, and he's not sure if it hurts or not. He'll look at Heather or I to see how he should react. We of course smile and laugh and then he does the same thing. It's great, I wonder how long it will last. I guess we always turn to our parents for comfort. I still turn to my mommy when Penn State loses.

editors note: Heather believes I've already told the above story. I apologize if true.

He's also able to grab objects now, like cell phones, phones, spoons.......and if he sees something he wants he does everything he can to try and get it. This is funny enough, but if you put it out of sight, he instantly forgets about it. I know this doesn't last for long.

This is how he was sleeping one day. Butt up, legs underneath him and head to the side.

Begs the question, if you could, would you?
Heather's sun glasses that are soon to make the disappearing act.
Peak a boo!
More tasting.
